I have always wondered about the forms and ideas that appear in my art making. Despite the inherent eternal challenge, I am driven by a desire to understand existence, which for me has a higher purpose. I envision the interaction of forms and ideas in a certain setting, and the challenge is to catch them at the "right" time. Under the influence of the outside, i.e the environment and circumstances, which unconsciously make a mark and initiate internal processing, a product emerges that finds its own manifestation, space and imagery.
The boundaries between external reality and the unspoken inner reality are often set up as opposites based on dualism. The tangible, the exterior, as a safe place and the invisible interior, as a more intangible area, often acquire a transcendental stamp. The setting around these seemingly opposites, I see as the space/situation where one meets oneself. By stepping into and exploring this unspoken inner region, there is an opportunity to experience the courage to reflect on one's own self and thus challenge this mystical side of the inner and see in harmony with the outer.
The need to understand things has its drawbacks. I see and understand my object-oriented forms as originating in this interaction and as the outcome of this process. I consciously observe where and how they appear in different ways, whether in paintings, drawings or threedimensional objects, and as I ponder them, I simultaneously consider my daily well-being and connection to my own self.
